    Yes though MASTER Chief.
    -
I'm assuming because the helmet is gold and an officer that no officer could be a diving officer without being a master.

    WHOA NELLY!!!!
I had only seen the small photo on my phone of the Chief's pin!!!!!!
    That's three stars!!!!!!!
That's Master Chief Petty officer OF THE NAVY!!!!!
    -
I'd guess WWII maybe for both in light of the Chief's pin condition.
Did these belong to the same person?

To be honest I'm not sure! I purchased them at a Flea Market today! The same lady had all of them in which she said she purchased them from an Estate during a clean out. She had no idea what any of them were!

Haha no worries! Thank you for the help!

Apparently Chief Petty Officers go back to 1890's but the way it currently is goes to the 60's. Apparently the same existed prior but in a bit of a different way. :)

Oh man! It's a heck of a game! I'm watching while on my computer lol!

I'm a Boston Bruins fan, but not a fan of Pittsburgh, so I'm rooting for San Jose lol

Hey! I was a huge Devils fan as a kid because I grew up down the street from Bill Guerin. I was lucky enough to know him very well thanks to going to his prep school (WMA) and my sister went to prom with his brother John lol So I got to go to a lot of Devils games as a kid in Boston and Hartford. Got entire Devils team auto cards and pennants from those years :)

Oh my godddd!! So jealous!! That must have been amazing!! (I wasn't born yet when that happened :) lol But I would have loved to be there. Oh man old time hockey was the best.

When I was young the four best teams were Colorado, Detroit, NYR & Devils. And as you know some of those series were crazy!

A USN diving officer and a master diver are two different things. The insignia with gold diving helmet in pic 1818 above indicates a commissioned officer who has graduated from the deep sea diver's course.

A master diver is a chief petty officer or higher rank non-commissioned officer (aka enlisted person, petty officer) who has passed the master diver course and passed the master diver board, and is eligible to wear the silver MDV insignia.

I spent a couple of years aboard a ship which had a diving officer and a few enlisted divers assigned.
