Vintage rectangular setting with diamond set tie clip

    The dimensions are 1 3/4" x 5/16" x 5/8".
    I would like to find out what its material, its stone and its decade are?

    Those serrated clips go back to at least the 1920s. I've some that belonged to my grandfather.

    These are usually made from base metal or steel if there are no hallmarks.

    As a rule, don't use the word "diamond" in a listing, unless it has been professionally tested to be such...;)

    Goldtone or silvertone are acceptable terms when the item is costume jewelry and not fine jewelry.

    Agree. And it won't get people like myself in a state of frantic frustration over all those costume listings when I am trying to search for real silver, real gold, or real gemstones.:arghh::banghead:
