I'm a newbie and I don't know what I'm doing.

Hello everyone,

I'm a 40 year old woman who lives in the Bay Area and I'm new to the group and don't know anything about antiques but old items interest me and I love to go to thrift stores to see what I can find. One of my reasons for joining is because I believe that i came across a great find and I think it could bring me a good profit considering that I got the item for free and was looking for experts or knowledgeable people like you guys to help determine if it's valuable at all. As soon as I can figure how to post my item to the thread I will.

Welcome, Lonnieswife! We were all newbies once, so don't worry - you'll catch on quickly.

Do you have pictures of your find on your computer? You add those by using "Upload a File" (which appears next to Post Reply under the text box. Individual pictures cannot exceed 1MB in weight, so be sure to resize any that are larger than that before trying to add them. Phone pics are usually the worst offenders on that score. There is a thread about creating threads and adding pictures that may be of assistance as well.
