6FEAD887-DBD7-4E4C-B7E5-BB844EB2DE08.png i found this item metal detecting at a 1920’s homesite. It appears to be copper. I cannot find another example but it is often reproduced in resin for a pendant. The fact it is reproduced and sold on eBay seems to indicate that it was popular at some time. Can anyone ID this old piece? Was in jewelry? A pendant? Any help appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Charles

Was there a description? Could you tell if it was vintage or repro? Any age range indicated?
    I appreciate the starting point
    Thanks

Here’s is a picture of reverse with nickel for size comparison. Note the two holes that was apparently used to mount this to something
    Thanks,

It looks like a poor casting possibly from a mold taken from the original "cameo",very visible casting bubbles on the front. No idea what the purpose of the holes was, mounting on an object.

After a look at the back, it appears to be a piece of shaped, formed tin.
I have a catholic artifact similarly made, hangs in my room. :joyful:

I think it’s a really cool find man! I detect too and I would be excited to find it. It’s the last thing you would expect to pull from the ground so it’s exciting. Anytime you find something outside of the norm it’s a blast. Who knows what it was attached to but it’s cool. Maybe a box or piece of furniture or something. What part of the world are you in and what type of property did you find it on?

I'm from the UK where a "backside" is someone's bottom. I was going to type a rude word but I did'nt want to offend your sensiblities.

I would clean that up and turn it into a brooch or pendant. I love it! Am I seeing a hole at the top a ring could go through for a pendant? Yours looks better than the modern recasting....
