Spode Spaulding Plates

I have these Spode salad plates for Spaulding and am trying to find out more about them. I can't find another example of the pattern anywhere. It's R2779, raised gold. Perhaps I don't know where to look for research. Could someone tell me more about these type of patterns. Are there lots of small runs like this and would they be difficult to sell as such?

England on the backstamp shows this to be a post 1891 piece and the Potteries org states this backstamp continued into the 20th century.

I'm not sure but it looks like there may be some impressed marks which may assist with dating.

The quality of the decoration looks to be good, with individual gilt dots, are the floral swags handpainted which would increase value?

Re pattern number I cant trace another example but maybe contact with the Spode Museum might work.

 

They did make special orders for clients but those usually have a monogram or family crest.

 

Couldn't these have been an exclusive design made only for the retailer Spaulding and Co.?

I have some Jean Pouyat Limoges France plates that were thought to have been exclusive to John Wanamakers (a local retail store at one time).

 

Definitely a possibility.

 

All hand-painted.
Most look to be impressed with 05.
Then usually two random capital letters. As, Bs, a T, L, D, O, etc. One near the 05 and then one towards the center.
There is also the S with underscore accompanying the pattern number. Maybe this indicates an exclusive Spaulding pattern?
