I scooped this up a few days ago in a rural antique shop in TN and it seems to have some good age on it while still being in great condition. From what I can tell from my research it seems like it could be as old as WWII, but I don't know how I could know for sure since the style hasn't changed much over the years.

I suppose it could be Air Force as well, I hadn't considered that option. Air Force and US Army Officers share the same looking badges on their covers.

Now, the Army ones do seem to be brass and all the air force ones I see are silver/pewter colored, so maybe this was miss listed as Army?

the mfg name and screw back certainly could help date it.....couldn't they ???

I can't seem to find anything about the markings, and I know screw backs were used as early at WWI if not prior even.

N.s. Meyer 1868-2000, made all kinds of military insignia. This one is a U.S. Army officer's hat badge. Probably late 20th C.
