Beach Scene

    Not sure of the medium, maybe gouache and oil pastels?
    I can't decipher the signature but the year looks to me like 1923 or 1973. I would think the later. Kind of not feeling the bright colors on the umbrella and the sun.
    Any thoughts?

    I'm guessing 73, and maybe "Frida Lee"? Peculiar little scene... the umbrella bottom is flush with the horizon. And sand dune islands? And who has a big umbrella with no chair(s)?

    If you look at the signature from a distance (as in the 1st photo,) the first name looks more like BRIAN...
