I know it’s not the done thing about value but would it be something that a few collectors might want , I just got a pin fixed and it was very reasonable here’s a photne of the drop bars was missing so got one fittedat very reasonable cost.

I like Lizzie's taste in clothes.

 

What about her taste in jewellery, those hairpins were studded with diamonds.

In the first painting she is wearing a negligee, pulled down to reveal her shoulders. Just imagine what those proper Brits would have said.
I just remembered, we had the loose hair discussion before in another thread. Someone posted paintings of Continental European aristocratic women with loose hair, just to prove that loose hair, etc didn't mean those women were prostitutes. They were just not Victorian.

This is Sissi with loose hair and negligee, but with shoulders covered, just as beautiful. The painter of all three portraits was Winterhalter.

 

That's lovely too but I would spend far too much time staring at the first one. She's a stunner. Those eyebrows are strong!.

Exactly. Possibly Dutch? They had no problem with the smoking.

 

In the past the Netherlands manufactured very little porcelain due to the lack of native kaolin clay. They had to import it from the south German lands, which meant high prices. Besides, frequent wars and other political issues in that region meant the supply wasn't reliable.
The porcelain the Dutch did make was beautiful, but no portrait plaques.
