I was driving home from fishing at the reservoir today and saw this chair out at the lawn with a bunch of other crap that was pretty much worthless to me. Seemed like a Landlord "shovel the apartment out" situation so I stopped and just had to pick this out of the pile.
Really comfortable to sit in, with my bad back the chair fits me perfectly. Wondering about the pattern of the upholstering, and maybe any other info - I'm thinking 70's?

I would strip the whole chair and stain the wooden parts espresso colour and finish with matte lacquer. Then I'd upholster it with good quality dark blue fabric and add accent-piping around the seat and back of the chair to bring more shape to it.

So make a free chair making me cost over 200$? How stupid!

In Heart Hotel, no one was living inside.(LOL) It's definitely a late 40s to early 50s chair. I'd clean the bejeebers out of it, just make sure no one who sits down beside 'er picks up a rider. Unless it's the ghost of James Dean of course.

Thanks for all your inputs. My wife did clean the #### out of it earlier tonight and she actually sat in it to spin with her wheel. She said the same thing I said - "It feels so good on my back"! It's crazy but I think this is a chair that didn't want to go to the garbage dump - it wanted to find a new home!! How cute!!
Here's the spinning wheel my wife used with this chair! I can't remember it's name, as she has names for all her wheels.

I've read of people all over the world, though perhaps sparsely dispersed, who believe that all objects have a soul, even those that are man made. Maybe this is why I feel pangs of sorrow whenever I see a child's stuffed toy lying on the side of the road. It makes me want to pull over and rescue it. I'm glad this chair spoke to you, and that you saved it from the junk heap. It's a nice piece, and deserves better treatment.

I feel this way about furniture.
Ugh, to see a piece that just needs a little work be cast aside :sorry:
