Those aren't KKK people!! Could be nurses OR members of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion or some such organization. My grandmother marched with the Ladies in every parade back in the 50's and they were all dressed in white like this. And yes, I have no doubt that is Bellingham, WA. The last place on the directional pole is Mt. Vernon.

The triangular sign says Weiser Drug Co. (the letters in "Drugs" apparently being electric - maybe neon). Right down at the point of the triangle, I think it says CA.

A sign over the canopy and occupying 3 windows say "Fine Quality Goods"

Yes. A big, bold, pool parlor! No River City trepidation here.

There really isn't another place up that way, after Everett, that would make any sense for the scale of this scene.

A published Weiser family genealogy identifies the druggist in Bellingham, WA as Spencer Bucher Weiser, born 1873 in Pennsylvania, died Bellingham, WA in 1923. A city directory of that time gives the address of The Weiser Drug Co as 111 E Holly.

Looks like the whole town turned out for the parade. There's not just the crowd on the street: all the windows are packed as are the roofs.

Everybody riveted by the parade... except for these two:

It's the biggest town from the Canadian border to Everett and has been for a long time. Those folks came from the whole county to see that parade!

Yes, Mt. Vernon is about a half hour south. Seattle about another hour plus.

No, no, no, Baker, I didn't mean that photo were KKK!!! I was just pointing out that there are a lot of KKK photos online of the KKK in Bellingham in the 1920s. Here are Google photos of KkK in Bellingham.

I was wondering about that building. Being round and of stone I was wondering about a possible kiln, not necessarily for pottery but a brick making kiln or a charcoal making kiln. Round beehive charcoal kilns were at their height in the late 1800s. This one looks like a remnant of one.

Scroll nearly 1/2 way down the page to the section "Charcoal Kilns in New York State:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I think the cross is probably referring to the Red Cross organization.
