    Greetings members.
I am a new member hoping to find any available info on a old brass phone that I recently came across.

I am not in possession of it yet, but will be soon.

I was told there is no label or markings, but I have not confirmed it myself.

Any info regarding the origin, or even the common name of a phone of this type (Lobby phone?) would help greatly.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks

I am a part-time buyer and online seller of miscellaneous cool stuffs.

Started out in PA years ago, where old estate auctions were very common.

Being back in NYC now and disappointed in the lack of local estate auctions, but Craigslist and mainly business auctions offer enough action for me to pick at, minus the fun and excitement of the auctions I so dearly miss.

Always helps to have access to a knowledge base familiar with such older items like this.

Interesting observation......I assume you feel a original cord from a phone of this period would have a different cord?

Canal street is in Manhattan, which is an animal unique to itself.
I have heard of some flea markets in that area, but I do better off the beaten path where there is less competition.
Traveling in and out of the city with any odd items is a challenge in itself.
I am in the Bronx, which is a different world, believe it or not.

There are some large flea markets upstate that I have heard of, but yet to make the trip.

Yes indeed...BUT...some older items do tend to get rewired in an effort to make them functional !

True, but NYC is actually made up of 5 different "boroughs", one of them being The Bronx, and all of them part of NYC, although in general, the term NYC is most commonly associated with the island of Manhattan itself.

I'm from Jersey City. When we hear NYC we think the city. The other boroughs are independent to us.

True, even us New Yorkers relate the term NYC to Manhattan itself, even though we are actually part of the city.

Even being part of the city ourselves, we know what "The City" really means.

Technically, I live in NYC, but I was in "The City" last night.......It's odd I know.

Every time I've seen anything about that market I've seen cool stuff.

My impression is that most vendors there would be well versed on the relative values of their items, and there would be much competition present in collectors and sellers like myself.

2 big strikes for someone like myself looking for deals good enough to turn some decent coin.

Craigslist keeps me going for the most part at the moment.
