Featured Question for hoarders of books?

Interesting hardware to say the least. Add my name to the list of folk who have books all over the place. My dad had 10,000 or so and I have most of them now. Lots of cheap bookcases in my very dry basement.

I've been reporting these guys for almost an hour. And they aren't disappearing very quickly.

 

I think they have to be removed by a mod?

 

True - and something must be going on with Davey because normally he's on this stuff like a shot! 3 "members" all at once.

Yeah well, even mods have to sleep some time.

 

I haven't taken any special precautions, but I have been thinking that I should wrap them in cloth or something.

 

Suffice it to say, I used to have a dining room, a small space which now has bookcases on four walls, another bookcase in the middle, and a table holding more books.

Plus bookcases and other book-holding pieces in most every other room and a hallway. Oh, and boxes in the attic... probably holding books that are now in terrible condition, but at least they aren't valuable ones. I knew nothing about storing books when we put them up there years ago.

 

I stored the books I wasn't planning to read, distributed throughout the attic, in boxes. Perhaps I failed to explain some of my thoughts to others. At some point the boxes got consolidated and I didn't pick up on it. So popcorn ceilings cracked and ceilings now need to be redone. Oops.

 

Ack. No books in attics; lack of climate control eats books!
