Thai Temple Rubbings

    These Thai Temple Rubbings were left behind to me from a divorce. I do know my ex recieved them from his father who was in the navy many years ago and obtained them overseas. Can anyone tell me if they seem authentic, and what the story is behind them? I'm going to be redecorating and possibly selling these, so I'm curious. I remember him saying that they were rubbings done with gold but that the gold Rubbings were eventually outlawed.

    Does it say your pictures are too large? Are you using a phone to take them?

    Yes it wont let me upload more then 1MB. But I was able to upload them to a gallery

    You must have your album set to private instead of public. I cannot find your pictures. Once you get the setting to Public, use the camera icon in the reply box toolbar to embed your pictures in a reply

    I see your pictures now in the Gallery, so setting has been fixed. You should be able to embed them in a reply now using the camera icon in the reply box toolbar.

    Probably just a terminology issue; they are rubbings of stone plaques making up the temple walls, carved in low relief, so the rubbings are also in low relief. Make sense?

    No, those aren't Thai temple rubbings. A Thai rubbing would look more like this. More like a low relief carvings. Frames are 1980s.

    Thay are nice...but your Ex...told you a story......

    My Ex told her lawyer to tell me she needed $4000 a month to live in the style she had become accustomed to.......... Ex's can not always be believed..!! ;):confused:

    I agree, it looks like these are relief replicas of Thai temple reliefs. Stacey, do you have any idea what the material is?
