I know these are probably amatuer and will never be identified, but i figured i could post them anyway. Both are signed JW, I think they are acrylic. Measure 8" by 12". Also are these based on real birds, or are they just stylized birds.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Given the precision/lack-of-shading, I would not be surprised if these are paint-by-number!
Seeing the back might help date them.
What are they? Maybe something in the Bird-of-Paradise or Lyrebird families. I don't immediately recognize them, so I'll look around a bit. I know there are a couple of folks here who know their birds... so we'll see.

Whoa doggies, the only difference I see between the two paintings here and the two paintings in the link Dragonflywink(Cheryl) posted is that the second painting in the link has a different frame.

Bless Patty, I never knew that frames came with the "paint-by-number" sets.

Still have bloody tears on my face from scrolling through the 'Museum' - but the darn things have been selling well for me for a few years now...

Wow, that was fast, thanks so much. I never realized there was such a market for paint by number pictures.

I love most of them. They were a hot sell some years ago. Are they still?
I've done many but not for a long time. :)
I know I have a few completed and some in their boxes. I'm pretty sure the point was to have a finished piece and so frames were in the box too.

Okay, I actually sort of like that one, and the example shown is pretty well done...

After she finished it, Mom said she thought it looked awful. But Dad put the frame on it, and hung it in their room. I love it because she did it. :)

I do colored pencil realism. My brother-in-law was at the house once and said my work was nice. Then he said "My wife does paint by numbers, too." I didn't have the heart to tell him mine were original. :(

    NOT paint by numbers.

You are a woman of strength and reserve. I would have scratched his eyes out. Figuratively. Maybe literally. No. There are laws.

Maybe when we all go to Bev's house for the postcard sorting/yardsale/sleepover, she'll let us see all of her drawings too. :D
