    Hi,
The marks on this ring are very hard to get a decent photo, but here goes.
To me it looks like Birmingham 1902 but not getting anything on the maker FG - any ideas appreciated!
    thanks for looking

    Thanks komokwa and bakers.
When looking through a loupe it is an F so I didn't check anything else.

Not sure if the date code is for 1902 or 1927.

I'm having a hard time determined if FG or EG. On editing the pic it almost looks like EG. Amost looks like a 3rd line/leg making it an E????? Following are links to Birmingham "FG" and "EG" maker's marks.

FG: as you will see there are only 2 FG marks and their ID is unknown:

aaanndd there are only 2 EG marks with their ID unknown meaning none of this is any help.:(

Following are a couple of edited pics.

Thanks lady branch:) No third line/leg, the maker mark is the only one that is clear when looking through a loupe, it really is FG.
I've got to buy one of those magnifying things for photographing items, I took around 100 shots to get the one I used.
I agree the letter date could be 1902 or 1927.

Thanks dragonflywink! I didn't find that listing, thanks for posting it:)
Yes, 1977 it is! Not much info on FG other than they were a sponsor mark of Caithness Glass, no time period given. Peter Holmes was making the jewellery there from late 1970-77, so this would be a Peter Holmes piece.
This is such a great forum, thanks for all the help with this folks!!!

Late to the party, but it is indeed Caithness. If you check out the excellent Scotland's Glass website, you'll find some very good illustrations of their jewellery. I've pendants, brooches and other bits.
