    I am asking for help to fix this box up. The major questions are how to treat this dry wood and how to best adhere it to the silver.

    Thank you for looking! :)

    I use this for bonding most everything - the gel stays put and doesn't drip or run like the liquid. I Never used Rejuvenate before. I do use "WATCO DANISH OIL" with great results. The only drawback is it has a smell to it untill it dries.

    @Rayo56
    So, I have to pick a particular finish color with the Watco?

    Just use white glue and swab any excess away with a wet rag or q-tip. Other glues will stain the wood if there's any slop.

    Don't put stain on that.
    You have a cigar box.

    The bottom (4th pic) seems to have a finish to it. Not sure what wood either. The inside is
    very dry.

    But that is the bottom outside.
    The inside would have absorbed any moisture, so it should have been an unsealed wood.

    Ok, Thank you. Just reaching out for recommendations. I wonder about beeswax. I was just reading about that.

    maybe this would work for you. I use it, brings back the wood nicely.

    Stange - a cigar box to make the cigars dry? The resins and oils in the tobacco would be rendered worthless for their flavours.

    Thanks, CXGirl I was looking at that, too. Maybe if I screw it up, I can just by two pieces. But there is a thin edge I would have to deal with.

    Are you keeping this for yourself? or selling?

    If keeping it won't matter what you do to the wood.
    If selling, I would not put anything on the inside wood - just glue the piece back in place.

    I’m keeping it. I don’t mind what really is there. But I need to cover the top because of all the glue remnants.
