    Hi,
I have a newspaper from 17 April 1912 from the Philadelphia Inquerer. I am not sure if it's original or not. It is very fragile and in bad condition but still has nice pictures. I do have the complete newspaper but a lot of the other pages are in very bad condition sadly. I attches some photos of the best pages for you to take a look.
I haven't found any other Philadelphia Inquerer newspapers from that day on the internet so I don't think it's a reproduction but I'm not very experienced with that.
    Thank you for your help!
    Steven

Thanks, I have not found the exact front page on any of the archives though. The text is slightly different on the archived 17 April 1912 newspapers

It's very possible that one is the morning edition and one is the evening. Not too long ago, newspapers published twice a day.

Good thought. They both say "Wednesday morning" though.

You're right. But does appear to be original. It was before radio and TV. Possible they just kept updating edition as new information arrived.

I find this quite interesting, I would totally start research on it if there are any names in the different papers that match, maybe the pictures, where did you get it from, can you Check if the person that held onto the paper may have been related with a survivor?

And the Titanic memorabilia collectors would go gaga over it.

My point was that The Inquirer reprints are a slightly different size. If yours is the size of The Inquirer's original, than that will help you confirm yours is too.

Alright, I checked that. My paper is actually much larger than the reprint. I measured 23.6x18.1" or exactly 60x46cm while the reprints are just at 10x12" printed on 16x14" paper.

Well, there you go. That provides additional confirmation that yours is original. (And why wouldn't it be? Had to have been a widely saved issue like V-Day, the Kennedy assassination or the moon landing.)

I got it from ebay, so I don't know where the paper is originall from. The pictures match up with the archived version. The headlines within the text are different while some of the text is the same. However my paper has some articles the archived one doesnt.

I'm wondering why the fat woman hates society (story bottom left of your first photo)

Looks interesting. Also wondered why the fat woman hates society as well. Can you read it and tell us please? Somewhere in our attic is a record issued at the time to raise money for the survivors and families of the dead. If I remember correctly, the chorus goes "Be British was the cry when the ship went down.To save British lives they were trying. They died like heroes true, is there nothing we can do, for the wives and little ones they left behind them" It is a long time since we listened to it, so I think the words are correct.

I attached a photo of the article why the fat woman hates society. It's actually just an ad.
