    Nice finds this week.

Congratulations Bakersgma on finding that piece!

I'm curious about those wood beads. I have 3 suitcases full of jewelry that I still have to go through. I think it's in one of those.

They were common for a while. I'm not sure where that particular strand came from; that type of bead was in use all over the place. They were in use for decades.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

That's for sure! The only thing was that my New York ancestors pretty much all left that state by the 1850s. And the papers on that site from the counties where they lived often don't go back far enough. But I did find a couple of intriguing things. And I love the way the site works!

Added a few new items to my collection. Got them fairly cheap at a local auction. Here are a few quick pictures of the McCoy & Haeger vases I was primarily after. Got them in box lots so I'm hoping to unload the other stuff in the next community yard sale. May be able to make back the majority of the purchase price and still keep the best items!

@Joe2007 I love that green vase - is it McCoy?

At the auctions in my local area I'm not seeing very healthy prices being realized. The crowds are seem to be far smaller than they were even a few years ago. It is good for me as a collector but I'm a bit concerned about the long term future when a piece of quality vintage furniture or art pottery goes for far less than mass produced new imported junk you see at Value City Furniture or Hobby Lobby that people are snapping up like hotcakes.

Yep. I have two of them now. One I got about 10 years ago and now this one. Too good of a price to pass up so I don't mind buying duplicates.

It's a case for stacked bowls. Should be three, I only have two. I think it was used for food service on United Airlines in the early days. The precooked dishes would be loaded on the plane just before departure. This probably held enough to serve everyone onboard in those days.

I'm betting they put ice in the clear part if it opens.

There was three Pyrex bowls that stacked with separators inbetween. Could be used for hot or cold but likely was used more for hot.
