Featured Garfield Chair Update!

I found that article I'd been digging around for!!!!!!!!! Was looking around in the basement for old printer inks and picking up a bunch of stuff and there in a plastic storage bag staring me in the face was the heading!!!!! Well anyway, here it is!!! I KNEW it was around somewhere.....just didn't expect it to be where it was!!!!



So, at least I know I can contact or head over to the Historical Society (such as it is) to try and chase down that scrapbook of Nicholas Ball's!!!!

Also, Gila, I sent off an email to the Garfield brothers Today!!! Will keep you posted if I hear anything back!!!!!!!

 

@GaleraGila !!!!!!!! I JUST heard back from them today.....!!!! At least from the Park Site!!! THEY are VERY interested!!!! IF the family is NOT!!! Which they are checking out FIRST!!!!! AS a donation, since they cannot buy it, as a restrictive Federal/National thingy!! Fine with us, but they can give us Donation value once everything is established....we just have to get it shipped to them!!! I would much rather it get a great home and become a part of history, which I believe it IS, than any monetary value in hand!!!!! YEAAAAAAHHH! I'm sure it will all take some time to get it all done, but PHEW, a good home is finally found for it!!!!!!!!!!! And I will get hold of the Executive Director of the Block Island Historical Museum for copies of that scrapbook....if contents have any bearing on the chair. I do know her!!!!! SO,
WHO KNEW THAT FERRETS COULD DO SUCH FANCY FEETS WORK!!!!!

Am hoping it will give me a lead on HOW the chair got there in the first place.....THAT'S the BIG mystery to meeeeee! "And the Beat Goes Onnnnn"!!!!!
