Featured Rod Massey Painting?

50 x 36 x 2"

I'm pretty sure this austere painting is by Rod Massey, who specializes in urban landscapes. Not sure when he made it.

Given its size and what he's asking on his other paintings, I'm guessing it's worth 4-5K (even with the wear on the right hand side). I'm wondering what you guys think. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it, but have decided to sell as it takes up a lot of real estate, and I'm more into Asian art.

I would contact the artist for verification, then you will have provenance that can be kept with the painting. Makes it easier on future owners. Make sure to get it in writing.

I have found that you can not get the same prices for art on the secondary market that an artist gets for his/her own work. If you can verify that the work is his, you should be able to find a buyer at some fraction of his asking prices. People are bargain hunters on the secondary market.
