    Hello,

I have been searching for information on a Habsburg China Made in Austria serving dish I recently acquired. I am new to antiquing so do not have many resources of my own yet; so was helping to find a community here that would help me identify this piece and help narrow in on a proper price point for it. It has a dogwood like pink flower (not really a rose) and the stamens around the center of the flower are raised. Finding pink flowered Habsburg china is not difficult! But I have not found anything like the iridescent orange scalloped edge! There is also a light application of gold to the edging. Any help in identifying this piece will be greatly appreciated. As well as helping me find the proper descriptions/terms (how an educated antique person would describe) the properties of the bowl. For instance, is that a scalloped edge? Or would you call it something different. Would you say the sheen to the orange color is iridescent...or opalescent? Again, I will appreciate any giants out there who will let me perch on their shoulders as I start out!!

Hello AngielsAsking - The mark was used by Moritz Zdekauer. They sold porcelain under the Hapsburg China mark. It dates to the late 1800's. It is quite lovely. Were it mine I would most likely title it something like "Mortiz Zdekauer Austria Serving Bowl - Pink Roses, Orange Edge, Gold Trim". I think that actually is a depiction of an old fashioned rose. Also mentioning "Pink Roses" in the title might help draw buyers. In the description I would mention that it had "an interesting and intricate mold." I'm sorry but I can't see the orange sheen well enough to describe further. I'm sorry but I can't help with pricing but please keep in mind that many serving bowls survived and the porcelain market is not strong at the moment. Hope this helps!
