2 weird ones In a week - a Gurney Fridge - can not find much info

    https://mycompanies.fandom.com/wiki/Gurney_Refrigerator_Company
The Gurney Refrigerator Company was founded in 1890 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin however its factory moved to Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin later in 1890. Its industry was refrigerators. Its fate is unknown, however the last trace of the company is from 1928. There are no known records, but it has been known to have non-ice box fridges which were made as late as May of 1975. 81037495_10157282069981997_8960917623462166528_o.jpg

Not sure if it is clear above - I found this one in a basement doing a demo job - Toronto area - still working - I have never seen one, can't find info on one, I want to keep it, but have no idea if this is a cheap model or worth something, and can not find anyone who has - go so far as to contact a long standing local fridge and appliance repair family business since 1955, and so far they haven't supplied the least bit of info - has anyone ever seen another one? the close up for the manufactures plate - its a very cool design - see the thumbnail

    Ohh, it's clear.
You're asking about a fridge which looks like it's from the 60's or 70's on an antique web site...:wacky:

DJB, I'm wondering if your GURNEY has anything at all to do with the "old" Gurney company, which supposedly went out of business by 1936. The typeface on the name plate is nothing like the one Gurney used to use, and that little logo doesn't appear on anything I've seen that's related to the "old" Gurney Company.

    This is the "old" plaque:

There's an obviously newer "Gurney" that someone was asking about on another site - it looks as if it may have the same nameplate as yours:

Perhaps you could try asking there?

Just had another thought, since you said you found yours in Toronto:

There was a company called Tappan-Gurney that manufactured appliances in Ville Saint-Laurent, Quebec, and distributed them across Canada through its branches in Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Montreal. That might be something to check out. They were in business in the 1960's, but I don't know how much earlier or later.
