    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

His museum and house? Mentor, Ohio.
I have certainly been there a couple of times. I'll make it a point to get there this month... it's not far, and admission is free!

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I never said the President even went to Block Island....just for clarification....there was a hotel owner ON Block Island who OFFERED to President Garfield a place to stay while he recuperated from his wounds.....The President declined....and yes, as we all know, died in NJ.....sorry if there was any confusion!!!;);) I believe there was an article written and I hope to be able to find it!!

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Gila the Ferret (thanks to Aquitaine for that nickname!) reporting on field trip to the Garfield museum!

I went to the museum in Mentor today. I learned this. It's a National Park, and therefore is run by the government, and they may not always be open to donations or such that, frankly, create more paperwork for them. The guide told me that in a whisper, and when I told him about the funeral-chair-issue, he suggested that you contact one or both brothers (Jay and Tom Garfield) who are still very active in the maintenance and oversight of the house and grounds as volunteers. They might be more interested, more helpful, more enthusiastic, MAYBE. The guy didn't know their addresses, but said if you addressed mail or fax to them care-of the museum, they'd probably get it.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

    Thank you!

I had to Google that Major... so... they called him a ferret? But I'm a GOOD ferret!

    EDIT
Don't judge a ferret by its major!
