    Hi there,
Does anyone have any insight on these photos? My husband and I purchased a multifamily house and part of it was an old soda shop that closed during the 1950s. Another antique dealer said this soda fountain may be from the 1930s. The pieces need a lot of work but there is a marble bar with the soda fountains and the bar stools. All I've got so far is the company (The Fischman Company located in Philadelphia)...
    Thanks! IMG_0382.JPG IMG_0381.JPG IMG_0380.JPG

What a great part of American history! We had a soda fountain very much the same in the town I grew up in, its long gone now.

That's a bit of a challenge, Megan, because there's nothing really distinguishing to date it (in your photos.) I'd suggest you research from another angle. Why don't you work with the research librarian at your local public library and have her help you go back into old reverse directories (using the street address) and see when it first appeared as a business? That will give you an earliest date.

The back bar on the left suggests that at least that part is a bit older. I am thinking more teens-early 20s (possibly even a tad earlier).

Thanks for everyone's insight! Any idea where to find a buyer for this?

I wonder what the cost would be to move the whole interior to another location. Let's say California for instance. How big is that room?

Why soul or even a well-heeled buyer? This isn't a shoe repair business.

I forgot to ask where this is located?
Interesting I found, I Fischman & Sons was in 1928 the largest manufacturer of soda fountains in the world.

This is amazing! Learn to love it and live in it!!!? I would dress up however a soda shop employee would and eat all my meals there.

It’s fate. If there’s a man that can get those lines working again its him. Slow week fixing pipes? Open the doors to the public and put on your jerk hat. Could still field plumbing calls while slingin’ sodi pop.

There is (or maybe was, since it's been a while) a soda fountain location converted to a party venue in Philly with a similar set up. We held my son's wedding rehearsal party there in 1996. Pretty close to Rittenhouse Square, but I can't remember what it was called at the time.
