I don't hate you, Nuff ! And Im not jealous of you or your finds. Im ALWAYS happy when people score ! I forgot about the figurine you sent me for my dollhouse,and I guess I also forgot the help you have given me,and for that I truly,deeply,sincerely apologize. I feel bad for being responsible for the negativity I introduced onto this board,its one of the things I disliked the most about the "other" board (wich is what I referring to when I said we dare not speak its name) so I vow from here on out to not just "freeflow" when Im responding and actually THINK before I respond.
The only reason you came up with my dealer friend is because she had an item and I remembered you had posted one like it,so I pulled up the finds column to show her. That's all, I don't spend my days envying you.
I realize a lot of yall do this for a living,so you have much more skills that youve acquired to get to the point your at,and I admire that. I DO try very hard to research items before I ask on the boards,but if Im honest with myself I absolutely SUCK at it ! I guess since you all make it seem so effortless I discounted the work and time yall spend WORKING at it. I have never,not one time,been able to identify an Asian mark,ever ! And Lord knows I tried,but for whatever reason,its beyond me.
So, Im sorry for being pissy and Im sorry for doubting you and being snarky.And I wish you continued luck in your endeavors. Like you need it,you do find AMAZING stuff.

That's a lovely little room, Johnny! And kudos to both you and Nuff for resolving your dispute. I will only say this, that some of us aren't pickers, but collectors (and I know that Nuff is a collector, too,) or just generally interested in antiques and collectibles, and that forums such as this are a form of entertainment as well as information. There is room for us all, eh?

Everyone has different backgrounds and interests, different skills and knowledge levels, and different patience levels, not to mention factors like employment, age, and health that can significantly impact a person's available time and energy.

When I was young, I didn't fully understand that not everyone can do everything, even if they'd like to. Now that I'm much older, I know better... especially from personal experience.

 

I just remembered the little sunflower figurine you won and listed it and made a tidy sum...I am very jealous,LOL.

Hey, your item looks familiar johnny! I got mine for a couple of bucks off of ebay a month or two ago, but I really didn't have a chance to take a look at it yet.

 

That mark sure looks like mine ! And that stem on the lid. Cool,heres hoping we BOTH find out something .
