Japanese wood block signature?

    I love wood block, but can't read Japanese for anything. I don't think this is really old, but it was in the local ReStore in need of rescue.

    I usually search block prints by image but am having no luck with yours. I believe it is of the Kintai bridge but can't find the exact print.

    I had some these myself>> The best that i could get (just keep in mind it was around 10 years ago). These were done by a Japanese printing company from 1905 i think to around 1937 and unless you can read characters it is hard to date. If i do find the article i will post it here.

    Thanks guys. I think Brad has the right bridge. I googled the name and wood block, and saw something that looked exactly right... they were my pictures from the board. (sigh)

    I think Uchida is a company that specializes (or did) in woodblock re-strikes (if that's the correct term). Like etchings and engravings, woodblocks can long outlast the original artist and still be printed long after the artist is gone.

    There are Hiroshige posters in every dorm in the US, if students are anything like they used to be. I'd still love to know who they reprinted.
