Japanese or Chinese Little Bronze Vase

    japanbronzevsm.jpg japanbronzevs1.jpg Measures about 5" high. Design includes what looks like Japanese Anemone and Wax Star/ Hindu rope plant (Hoya Bella) and a wasp or bee at top. Bought it thinking Japan made, but now not sure. May have small stamp on bottom. Thanks for the input will scan to see if there are any Calif/studio pottery questions

    It looks like a parcel-lacquered 20th C. Japanese bronze to me, Trip. I could be wrong though. So please don't write that that down in stone.

    I never like seeing turning marks

    I'm not convinced those are turning marks. If they were turning marks, you would expect to see them across the entire surface. Why erase most of them and leave just a few near the center?

    I think it's an attractive piece, but can't help with age or ID.
