It *IS* amazing how they tuck their heads into the down on their upper back. This guy really has it DOWN. I made a pun! Down! Thanks, Davey. Hey, does any of that stuff you drink have bird corks?
No corks, screw tops now. Except for Champagne. Nearly 4 years ago, I was winding someone up about Obama getting re-elected so I opened a bottle of Champers to celebrate, I didn`t realise the recording had sound otherwise I would have spoken.
Now THAT's what I call a champagne glass! You know how to start a party, Davey. If I hadn't known any explanation of the clip, I would have sworn you were silently preparing to scare the bo-jesus out of somebody asleep on the couch, when the BOOM went off! I did see a bottle of champagne at the store today that had a bird-y name, but I just didn't feel like explaining to my ol' man why I thought it was worth 29 bucks to see if there was a bird on the cork. Another day, when I'm shopping alone.
I won a few bottles in a competition, the real stuff from the Champagne region. I don`t own any flutes so it went into the first half pint glass at hand
Adele... Wowwwww... thank you! And hola, and welcome to the Forums. I'd say you're off to a great start here! Aquitaine, thank you so much! I am sincerely appreciative.
*rubbing my hands together, like an excited miser thinking about a windfall* Exxxxxxcellent!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went through 300 corks and this was all I could find, I didn't forget you, just got busy, life gets in the way of fun. Anyway The 2005 are pretty ravens, then there are two eagles and then bird feet. I also pulled out a shark and fish because I thought they were cute.
Adele! I am overwhelmed! I would love those bird corks! I'll ask you to keep the shark and fish... hey, you can start a collection of fish corks! I will message you with my address! I am certainly very happy you joined our group!!!!!!! Got PayPal? Let me give you some postage! X0 Gila
Thank you, Adele! My package arrived just now! I badly needed the corks: two 2005 Ravenswoods, two (2005 and 2007) Banfi Eagles, and a new synthetic Little Penguin. Thank you, too, for the precious little owl charm, which will find a very good location very soon. I have now a total of 33 corks, thanks to you good folks here (when I joined up here, I had only20. Gonna thank you also in the Rants and Raves thread!
You are very welcome glad I could help. Sort of the benefit to running an antique store, I have lots of different things sitting around.
If you ever suspect that I might have anything you would want from me, you have only to let me know! Let's see, what do I have sitting around sometimes? Parrot feathers... styrofoam packing pellets... t-shirts from Mexico...
When it rains, it... pops! Corks pop, that is. Thank you, Kingsie-of-thingsies, (aka Milt, KoT, King of Things) for giving me what is arguably just about the CUTEST bird-wine cork ever! Kingsie sent me a cork from Snoqualmie Vineyards in Washington state; for some reason, they put a little newly-hatching chick on the bottom... maybe a symbol of their eco-friendly, sustainable philosophy... I searched their site and couldn't get a clue. Anywayyyyyyyyyyy... THANK YOUUUUU!
