Featured Help identifying secretary

    Hi all,

    I ran across this secretary and haven't found anything like it searching the web. Any ideas of the style, and possibly the era/age of the piece based on the features? It needs a little work, as the hinge's stops are bent backwards, which cracked the wood on the drop-front door.

    I plan to pick it up tomorrow because I fell in love with the style and uniqueness.

    Interesting piece. Think circa 1860. Might best be termed Late Classical but transitioning into renaissance revival. Mahogany.

    Thanks! Would it be American or imported?

    Sorry, I'm not at all skilled in furniture... or antiques for that matter.

    I'd say likely American. Once you get it home, some pics of the interior and back may get you more precise information. Repair can be made invisibly.
