The "honourably discharged" paper and the "Public Recognition" document for Sgt. Howard Hastings are beautifully done. Sad though to see that he was "disabled in the Great War."

I tried to search on-line for an obituary for him and did use "Canada" in my search, but I couldn't find one for him. I was wondering if he lived a long life or died shortly after his discharge, perhaps because of his war wound(s).

lol, I know but they sell well in the store so I took them all.
Thanks yourturn, I haven't had a chance to see if I can find any information on him. I always feel sad to see stuff like this at sales (Charity group garage sale), but maybe there are no family left.

Fig, it's gorgeous, along with the case!!! I haven't gotten to the restorer in Exeter, NH yet, but when I do, along with some of the Dags, most of my cases need repair...he did say that some of mine were from England, so they might be hard to fit.....we'll see!!!! I did NOT go to the McInnis Auction in Amesbury, MA, where he had literally hundreds of Dags, Ambros and parts......figured I had enough just with family.....but OH SO TEMPTING!!!!!

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I feel your pain, Evelyb! They made *ME* buy a McCoy duck, two bird canes, and a finch paperweight. Every morning I wake up and check them to see if they've multiplied... yet!
