Apparently this plane's basic design is not dead... Or wasn't as of 2012. Note that my pin looks like the new design since the Canards are not pointed but the engine area is like the old design....

I like the box, but would rather have the plane m'self. Bear too, most likely since her Mr Bear rather fancies those all-metal birdies. Odds are it's nickel; the enamel is Chinese, and their enamels on sterling are generally better than that.

:dead::(:(:( I've been to sales like that. One hoarder house with the sale handled by a law firm comes to mind. As Bugs would say, what a bunch of maroons. You have my sympathies. It's too bad you didn't check out the jewelry. At these sales, there are often sleepers. The pros don't know everything about everything, and sometimes really good bits slip through the cracks. I went to one estate sale where they had a modern stone necklace priced at silly money, but an 18k pin went for $4. Asleep, meet switch.

Both Mr Bear and Mrs Bear like them. ;) Himself is the aviation purist, I'm the space flight nut, so there's crossover!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Haven't posted many photos here lately, so here goes. I love this cased tintype that I got at an antique show in March.

Thanks, and it's a poor photograph, since I'm not good at taking these. It's a typical case of the period. I think all of them are beautiful!

Bought this headed to my car at the sale. Oopsie. Carved bakelite clamper. I thought I was done, had hit the bathroom and the fundraiser coffee and... full stop. Snagged at the same time as the Baccarat birdie.

They look a lot like Ozark Glass or Sooner glass. That may be a direction for you to look towards

great find on that bracelet evelyb30!
Nice pair of swans johnny! I always think Sooner glass when I see those pieces.
I picked up a bunch of stuff today - 20 pairs of snowshoes, a couple of wood carvings - I love the dog with his skis, and a pair of plastic Pelicans(?), made in North Hollywood - maybe from the 1950s? and discharge and public recognition papers for Howard Hasting from 1918. The best find to me is the set of china - Johnson Bros McDonalds Farm.
