Hello everyone, I bought this sideboard recently the previous owners think it’s from the 30s. There are no markings on it except the hinges. It looks hand carved. I can upload more photos if you need me too.
Thanks for any info you may have!

    Regards,
    Matt

Thanks everyone!! I have a few more pieces that I have been making operational that I’ll upload soon also.
Any idea who made it and where it came from? It’s my favorite Facebook market place find so far.

Think this is English and a bit older than you think. British members here could probably pinpoint this better than I can but thinking at least Edwardian. Possibly older.

Wow that’s cool! The symbol on the hinge in the attached picture reminds me of a cupcake or a crown. Lol

More photos please, especially what's going on with those drawers. And the backs of the handles.

I agree it may well be English, and at first thought, 1860s to 80s.

Are all the hinges the same? That one looks replaced.

Which hinge were you thinking was replaced?

The one you showed the picture of. Looks a bit shiny, and some of the screws are new.

Someone has put new screws on those drawer handles too. It's all quite clean, which makes me think it's had work done on it. I do, however, think it's OK for period and not repro - I'll stick with 1880s ish.

All of the hinges are exactly the same but yes most screws were replaced, unfortunately. What options do I have to find out who made it and where it came from? What would you do? I thought maybe the hinges with the crown on it would be telling but it’s probably a common hinge.
    Thanks for the info!

Have a look through oldcopper.org and see if you can find the mark for the hinges.

No luck on old copper. Cool site though. I was thinking about trying Value my stuff for 20 bucks. What do you all think?

Complete waste of money, I'd say.
