I believe that my parents have one of those. It is probably in their basement someone along with a bunch of vintage Tupperware.

I grabbed a sadly damaged mourning locket inlaid with black and white enamel for a quid yesterday. Reasonably sure it's gold, but I need to take it in and get it tested. If it is, it's 12 grammes. :)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Any possibility you can post a photo? Would love to see it. :)

I was being far too cryptic. ;)

    Here's the locket, anyhow -

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

OBB... what's that claw-looking thing? Looks like a kitty's claw... that can't be, can it?

It's a chunk out of the enamel. It's a real pity too. Odds are that's a gold locket.

I have enough of the kitty claws stuck in my rugs to see the difference.(LOL) Cats shed those too.

Isn't it a shame. I think it has to be gold: no one would have bothered with that quality enamel in base metal or plated to my mind. I'd have kept it without the damage.

It's been done, but the fact that there's no copper underneath leads me to think gold too. I'd keep it even with the damage; the dings and dents tell the story. Somebody cared about that locket. I've been known to pick up dented silverplate, so dinged gold would be a no-brainer.

    What a lovely piece bear!
That bank is sweet Joe2007! How big is it? Yes, some paperweights can go for crazy money! I bought a collection last year and several went for $2000-2500, and one went for $3000.00.
