Tucson Turquoise has a website American Turquoise Identification, that I find excellent. Be sure to click through the slide shows on the site. If you can id the mine source of the turquoise, it may narrow down the field for who the maker is.

It is a beauty, kard, with beautiful turquoise. Navajo style and I would say Navajo made as well. Probably 1960s.
Silver content of Navajo jewellery varied a bit in those days, but it looks sterling or close to it. If you really want to know for sure, you can have it tested.

I bought it for non-solid silver. Someone has made a deep scratch on the inside( you can see it on the last pic) but don’t know what was their conclusion.
I saw it from a distance and right away it spoke to me good quality and silver. It was heavily tarnished but I did a bit of cleaning.

I hate it when people damage items in order to test them. There are less intrusive ways.

Me too! I was looking at a cameo set in 18k the other day, the setting was obviously filed for testing. Right on the front

I had a beautiful piece that someone had gouged in the front. Ugh.
