I have an antique lamp that I purchased at an estate sell a couple of years ago and I would like to know how I go about finding out more information about it. Here are a few pics.

We can not see your pics. Are they in the Gallery? You might have them marked private?

For those looking, it says Made in Germany on base.

The clothing style reminds me of 1930's scifi movies - like Flash Gordan.

The lamp looks period, but that globe looks like a replacement to me.

So...question...why use a replacement globe that has a hole , showing it's missing whatever that girl is reaching for.... I think it's legit..!

It looks original. But I think there is another figure missing. I have seen one similar that had two dancers.

I think it looks 1930s, too. Could be an Art Deco'esque pixie harlequin (although they're usually kicking the lighted globe):

What's written on the side of the lamp socket?

Max Le Verrier style as he captured movement. The glass could be Czech? Any made in on the globe? Appears to be 1920-30....can we see the plug?

I agree, it is period, and there is something missing, hence the second hole with staining around it. Still a pretty piece though, love the elephants.

Plug is very much like one on a lamp I have, purchased in the 70's.

Kind of dressed like the Flying Monkeys in the Wizard of OZ .... I think it's too cool ....and 1920's.... that socket and bulb look period with a replacement cord

Possible that it could be a newel lamp?

Either there was something else in that hole in the globe or the globe is a replacement. I vote for replacement globe that came from another lamp.

I will humbly disagree with the replacement....I think if would be hard to match that base...more likely the warrior was holding something that was also attached to the globe via the 'hole'.
