    I would say it's made of silver of an unknown purity and turquoise?

    The ring construction is poor possibly student/hobbyist made. The stone could be cuprite/malachite combination.

    Hmm, I was signed in typed two replies and they wouldn't post. Lost what I wrote.

    So to re cap.
    I agree with Kevin that it is silver. Possibly Mexican to imitate American Indian.
    Might be turquoise

    @Hollyblue
    Does malachite have red ore running through it?

    @tyeldom3
    Polish it so we can have a better look at it. The tarnish hides too many things.

    Not a perfect polishing job, but much better. I can now see that the back side shows indention's from the front side decorative indention's on the outer edge. Looks like whatever tool they used to make the decorations, left scars on the the back.
    Any ideas on age?
    Thanks again everyone.:)

    The marks you see on the back are not tool marks,the base for the top of the ring was very overheated and almost melted when soldered together or when the shank was added.Doubt it is Mexican,they usually do a much better job at soldering.

    Google "cuprite jewelry" and there are a number of images showing it with malachite since they are both copper minerals.Cuprite also appears with blue in chrysocolla.

    Thank you hollyblue I appreciate the help. I agree that it's made rather crudely but the marks on the back are directly under each punched decor mark of the front. I do see 1 spot on the back like a small bubble that looks like it could've been a melt spot, but I think the rest are tool marks, but not that it really matters anyway lol.:cat:
    Question please.....are y'all seeing this stone as a green color? Or a turquoise color? I see a dark hunter green color, but as of late, my family tells me I'm wrong about certain colors :arghh:.....so what color are you seeing, pretty please?
    And, how old is this ring would you guess?
    Thanks again!

    That looks suspiciously like Eilat stone; could the ring be Israeli? Eilat is green and black, sometimes with blue in it too, and it's in the same copper-colored family as turquoise and malachite. I've never seen turquoise turn that particular color, even when it's been exposed to hand lotion and the like.

    komokwa The Truth is out there...!

    Is not Eilat a dull green stone.
    My dad wears one....that I've posted here before.

    Possibly Someone !! to imitate American Indian.

    Not necessarily. It generally doesn't have those brown inclusions however, at least the pieces I've seen. On second look, I think this is chrysocolla.

    Before you polished it, I really couldn't tell what color it was. By general shape, I was thinking that it looked somewhat like NA, but not really. I know that some jewelry had been made in Mexico to look like NA, and was assuming wrongly, that was what you might have.

    Now that you have polished it, the contrast shows the stone to be dark green, but I don't think malachite. Doesn't look quite right.

    With it polished, the lack of quality in the finish of the ring shows. I have no idea what kind of stone.
    Makes me think of rings you would find in a New Age store. Not particularly old. Last 10-15 years or so.
    Only my guess. Others are more knowledgeable.
