Im wondering if anyone can recognize the era or brand name of this armchair. It was reupholstered and the name tag lost. Any help or leads would be appreciated! Thanks!

This is one I would want to see the bottom of.
This style has been around since the 1940s and is still made today.

Who says it was recovered? That would cost a lot to reupholster in leather (or anything else). Especially with those buttons. What are they asking for it?

It was purchased at an estate sale in a 6,500 sq ft Midcentury style home. I'm pretty sure they had the cash to reupholster it in unicorn hide if they wanted. :) I assumed because there is no manufacturer tag anywhere but just an Upholstering shop tag from Grand Rapids MI.

It sort of looks like a could be from anytime in the last 50 years club chair (but I'm not great with furniture). What to the feet look like, sometimes those seem to be an indication of what's popular at the time I think. The buttons on the arms are a little different than some chairs have but if not original then that might not mean anything.

Just as an observation, from the photos the chair and ottoman don't quite match in color or texture but it could just be the lighting or one could be the original covering.

SIS, that was my first impression... colors do seem different. And the buttons on the ottoman create rosettes, whereas the chair's are spaced for a plainer pattern. I suppose that could have been a mis-step on the upholsterer's part. Still verrrrry luxurious-looking.

    P.S. I love magpies.

I think that's more because one was used heavily , and probably in the sun and the other wasn't .

They don't look different up close. The picture was taken in the basement with weird florescent lighting. Thanks for your thoughts! I am trying to help a friend. She got 2 of these chairs and the ottoman for $250. I was hoping to find a manufacturer name on them somewhere.

Classic club chair made forever. I think this to be a later example due to the way the upholstery on the back and the arms wraps around to a separate cover piece and how the ottoman has a raised but attached top cushion. These are tricks that can circumvent more labor intensive sewing and fitting and use less skilled labor. I suppose it could be an older chair that has been reupholstered in this manner but it is not typical for upholsterers to redesign what they are working on.
