    That's the stuff , alright !!!
I used to pull it out of a heavy metal roller with a wet brush on the end ......the brush was so full of glue it used to gum up overnight.

Thanks! Seen and used both but don't have either.
I put the tape, made wet with a sponge, on the package on two sides and then wet the last side. :)

I taped many a box with those gooey machines......and if you didn't slap the tape on slowly ....it tended to slide around on a thick film of glue.....getting on everything..

We replaced those with an automated heated vinyl strap machine........just had to learn not to get your hand caught under the strap when the machine pulled it tight !!!

    Yipes!
I've used the do-it-yourself poly roll and clip type system.
I've even salvaged some of those and reused them.

The machine made a terrible noise as the strap snapped tight on the box...and then stunk where the strap was heated shut...

Today's "whoops" find. Poetry, cartoons etc drawn by WWII civilian internees in the Philippines during WWII under the Japanese. Printed in 1945. It's in decent shape considering the age.

Everything else was ...meh. I did just miss out on a stack of old National Geographic or whatever ads featuring old cars. Not my thing anyway, but they went cheap.

I don't think they are worth much anymore. Even the ads don't seem to sell like they did...Coke and all but I think there are a few like #1 and some with special covers that are good. I have a bunch of old ones that I've never parted out.

I did take some out of some old magazines, but they were all old railroad ads. Kept them for my dad at some point. The car ads probably went cheap, a stack of at least 40 for ten bucks, because the seller didn't want to lug them around any more. I figure they person buying them is going to take them to a flea and sell them for a buck each. They were already in plastic sleeves, so she could make a few bucks on them.

    Hi,
I have an 1930 National Geographic. On one page is an ad for a 1930 Cadillac car for $750.00 a few page later is an ad for a RCA radio for $1200.00.
