Any thoughts on who fought whom, when and where? We think that we managed to decipher some elements of these battle scenes but any kind of help would be much appreciated.

This Italian School painting resembles Martin Altomonte's works. We are pretty sure it depicts Austrian Cuirassiers in the 18th century (although this type of cavalry was similar across Europe). Turkish uniforms are not combat uniforms, they are most likely depiction of typical sartorial choices in the Ottoman Empire in the 18th century.

Our guess is that this battle scene occurred in the Austro-Turkish War of 1716–18. Our guess is mostly based on the style of european uniforms of that time and very similar depictions of battle scenes in other paintings. The Turkish attire is mostly stylized so it's difficult to pinpoint the period.

I can't help but I'm laughing looking at the top pic, the four dudes in armor on the right. Would be fun to supply some imaginary dialogue for the guy on the left.

"Well, it's lunch time and I'm not about to go out there hungry!"

    or

"Adolph, did ya hear the one about the court jester and the peasant girl?"

    or?????

Well, when we have a few free moments at the gallery, we constantly caption our paintings or wonder what they might be saying. When you look at the four guys on the right i imagine "Hey, what's all the commotion about?" - "Don't know. A new iphone is out?".

You have shown some nice paintings here and have gotten little feedback. It is not that we are uninterested but, rather, don't have the expertise to help you out. If I have any knowledge, it is in early to mid 20th century art. keep showing them and perhaps some one will come along at some point to assist. In the meantime, those of us here with interest in art can learn from you.
