A question about contemporary Fiestaware

My wife has a bit of Fiestaware that we use for our everyday dishes. I had been looking for a covered butter dish a couple months ago (wasn't looking hard but had it on my radar so to speak) The other night the Mrs says she would like a butter dish for Christmas (I'm a step ahead tee hee)

Anyhow, I star looking at covered butter dishes and I want to get color we don't already have any pieces in. I see "Periwinkle" and think that is it.

So, I start looking and holy crap.

Can someone tell me why the heck Periwinkle stuff is twice and even triple of other contemporary colors?

    Hi,
It all depends on how long the color was made. If you want to see prices look at Lilac. Some contemporary colors are still made others where just short runs or discontinued after one/two year. The pieces I am still looking for are the lilac tripod candle holders.

    Greg,

That is kind of what I thought. I just took a peek at some Lilac on Ebay. Yup...very pricey. I may look at a vintage color, it will probably be cheaper LOL

    Greg,

    Hi Terry,
He is looking for a color he does not have yet, thus the periwinkle.

    Hi Pat,
That teapot is a comptemporary pearl gray not the old gray. I tried a new teapot lid on the coffee server it is smallar but does fit. Thank you for the idea.

Do they make teapots in the old gray, and does that gray have a special name?

    Hi Pat,
Yes they make teapots in old gray. The old name was just gray the new is just gray but some people call it pearl gray since it is a lighter gray.
