Insanely priced Carolee necklace??

We have one like this... what's so rare about it? it's not even gold. I didn't think Carolee was that desirable? They are asking $300

I have a SIL who loves Carolee. These things can go for big bucks to Carolee fanatics, but... this is STILL way out of line. The seller either...
A. Has knowledge of some special THING about this item that will drive collectors NUTS... or...
B. Is totally unaware of the price range of this stuff.

 

I thought Carolee was a latecomer... I'm coming late to "bridge" jewelry myself, and know about Judith Liebner, Robert Lee Morris and others I've been coming across - they were mostly well established in the 80s as independent designers, but I'm not familiar at all with Carolee.

$100 bucks. This sale is in a very upscale beach community in Los Angeles, lots of older well-heeled women who know their stuff.
