I believe this is gold wash over silver based on scratch test on my testing stone. It had a slow fade with 10K acid, and left behind a milky white result with 18K acid.
Does anyone recognize the tiny mark that is stamped on the clasp? Something in an oval. Thanks!

Neither the mark nor the bracelet looks Egyptian to me. Looks like a table lamp & a J. Nice piece. I would consider high end costume.

Middle East someplace, the whole piece is coated with solder like most filigree pieces.

An attractive garter bracelet, those were fashionable during different periods. Maybe 30s-40s, but others can probably pinpoint the period better.
I agree. Mesh and cannetille, could be southern Europe.
It does, a 1930s table lamp with long fringe. It is vaguely reminiscent of a Slovak import mark for gold, but that was a more convincing palm tree with the fineness below the roots of the tree.

Maybe one of the costume joolies knows of a maker J who marks with a table lamp/tree?:)

If all filigree, mesh, and cannetille came from the Middle East, most of Europe would be left without traditional jewellery.;) The J makes a case for a country with Latin script.

Not convinced it's a J or that it's the right way up.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Interesting clasp/closure on the bracelet. Lots of good guesses on what the mark right be!
