Looks like an import. China or perhaps India.

What size is it? Do you have any provenance on it?

It's not really a "blanket." More of a bedspread.

The fabric seems to have a more open weave than cotton, although that may just be the pictures.

    Some (apparently) hand-stitched lines?

Looks like it would fit a 3/4 or double size bed.....can't say anything as to the age....

Um. Am hoping it is newish and presently available, regardless of India or China. It has elements of "Irish" lace, which I love. (Grandmother used to add some to my yellow silk Easter dress, and the collar of my black velvet Christmas outfit.)

Pluck a little bit and burn it. Note the smell. Plastic? new.
I hate to say it but it looks like 1-4 pound test monofilament fishing line cut up into
pieces and bundled for the stuffing.
    that would not be good.

I bought one like this new in the 90s , I don't remember where or when . I want to say those panels were called " cutwork " ?

The stuffing is some kind of polyfill, a spun polyester used in a lot of modern commercial quilts and spreads. Home quilters can get it places like Joanne's Fabrics.

Kinda funny. I've seen quite a few of those and I always thought those type bedspreads were vintage :wideyed: hand made. Admired them, too.

Smiley for Komo, but I mean earlier 1900s.

And turn off your not so clean mind. I've been a Real Estate Broker since 1961 and have seen (not romped in) at least 100,000 bedrooms.

So I romped in maybe 25% of them..

It isn't cutwork, it is an applied crochet. Cutwork would be open. I would also call it a comforter, not a bedspread. Also the hand stitching looks like what I've seen on hand stitched imports. My mother is an avid quilter and her stitches would certainly put this stitcher to shame.
