My fiancé found this piece of jewellery in her grandmothers old jewellery box. Does anyone have any ideas, information or estimated valuation of this gold, emerald and diamond ring?

Hi, is it marked? If not, did you have the metal tested? If so what is the gold, 14k, 10K? Did you have the stones tested?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

How pretty! I have no information, though.

Hi Marie. Yes it's marked (4th picture) although it's difficult to discern any noticeable details in the markings. Neither the gold or the stones have been tested yet, was discovered just last night and I decided on posting here before bringing it to get properly examined. Apparently the ring was bought for my gf's grandmothers by an old beau 15-20 years ago as an engagement ring from an antique shop and originally had a certificate of authentication that came with it but sadly this has been lost along the way.

A certificate of authentication is worthless.
I see you are in the UK.
If you get an old toothbrush and some washing up liquid and clean out the crud where the hallmarks are then re-photograph them we might be able to date the ring, tell you the carat and where it was from.

Get a toothbrush & some soap & get in there and brush those marks clean.

Just from your pics... & I can't be certain....but the ring looks to have a ring of authenticity...& I'll bet those are indeed emeralds & diamonds.

Drool. She better be wearing that. The ring looks like Art Deco and I'm betting the diamonds are real. The emeralds...no clue. Back in the day they used synthetics in a lot of designs. It does look like it has a full set of hallmarks inside. Odds are the gold is at least 14k and might be 18.

Cheers for the replies guys and girls. Got the ring looked at today, not as old as I thought but still with the 18K gold, diamonds and emerald is worth a nice few bob :). Great site you got here, thanks again for the help folks. Good luck ;)
