Help with these porcelain lamp bases. I would love to know what era anyone thinks they may be from...and how I could best describe the style of them. Many thanks.

With lamps, sometimes the plug is a clue. These could be 50's, I don't think later, but can you show a close up of the cord and plug, and maybe the base? They are kind of fancy looking. A nice set.

What is the material? Glass? Painted metal?

(P.S. Snagger, if you click on "full image" after uploading a photo, it will put the image in the text which is helpful for folks taking a look.)

Lucille.b - perhaps this will help. Clearly it needs a clean. So keen to find out your thoughts. I have included a pic of the cord. I think they are porcelain with metal base.

Mostly the plugs --I can kind of part of the plug in the photo but it is cut off just at that point. Almost looks like the one shown has a repair. Show both plugs.

These may well be 1950's, the 70's also did some Hollywood Regency style older looking lamps, let's see the plugs. The prong part, and show from both angles.

What about the material? Ceramic? Metal? Any idea?

Thanks. Do they both have this metal attachment? Its kind of an odd construction. It looks like an older plug.

It might be hard to pin down the exact date, but probably 1950's is as good a guess as any. They have a nice vintage flair.

Thanks for posting the extra photos.

Once again my sincere thanks. I live in NSW Australia. I was looking to sell them here after returning home from Jacksonville last year. If you did have any thoughts on how much they are worth that would be great. No one I know likes them...including my husband. Lol.

I don't care for them either, but I sure could decorate with them!

The descriptive, zaftig, comes to mind..

OK, don't know what Australia had for electric parts in the past 50 years, but if that plug was in the U.S. I would say 1930s/40s

Hahahah..I could decorate with them too. B&B or heritage home here in Australia. But the challenge is finding someone. Someone with an Italian mansion...thanks guys. Really enjoying this page and all of you. Some of the knowledge shared here is simply amazing. Makes me miss America soo much.
