i know eh lol i take broken stuff up to the till and have to explain why it's broken and to chuck it as it can not be fixed and should not be sold to an unsuspecting customer/victim.

without thrift stores , and we all quit buying, i think we would all be out of biz here and have nothing to show or tell or sell lol IMO but as the plastic takes over the world and good stuff at the good will diminishes i think our days of finding good stuff disappears . i have said it before i find better stuff in their chuck out bin aka garbage bin .

further ,,, they have quit hiring english speaking people at the thrift , these are filipino form a distant lands they have no idea what american collectables and antiques are or what is good and what is bad . i'm not a racist and feel bad they had to leave their homelands to come here ,but it's really screwing up the collectable ecosystem, not only that they are taking up the jobs that our kids used to learn how to work from, there is no more teens taking orders , it's older people that can't speak english and can only go by what you say and point too ,they don't know what you said having to repeat it 4 or 5 times and still get it wrong .. just frustrates me.

I have tried to convince friends/family to stop donating broken, chipped, torn, stained, etc. stuff by telling them that someone down-and-out doesn't need to waste precious cash on an item only to get it home and find it doesn't have all its pieces. (I don't mention that many of the items are actually bought by re-sellers.)

Now that I can find. The one and only downside to everyone quitting smoking is you can't find the accessories any more either.

Yes, some shops are really bad at putting price stickers and "permanent" marks on things. It is very irritating! I notice our Hoodwill has fewer and fewer "nice" vintage or antique items... getting to be mostly clothing and much new is invading. I also notice that even nicer purses or jewelry isn't making it out to the floor. Our Salvation Army is a bit better. My favorite local is the donation center for our Women's shelter. Nice selection of most anything. They are getting saavy about value and prices and the vintage/antique/better quality items are getting more expensive.

i hear you they put a kids electric car out (camaro) i bought it thinking my granddaughter is gonna love this , get it home , open it up to see what is wrong and if i could fix it well , there was no circuit board to work with as all the guts were gone rendering it totally useless , i took it back and gave it back showing what was wrong with it ,took a five dollar loss as they returned 10 lol
