The one in the link I posted it showed the signature on the last picture. It was signed "bergmann"

But if you compare to the others they have on the same artist I posted, it’s very different.

I saw. Maybe he changed his signature? Not sure why the artnet page has it listed as max bergmann then.

I don’t know, but to me they look like very different styles. See what others think.

Seen this kind of error before, artists with same names confuse database aggregators like artnet. Sometimes this can work to the unscrupulous seller's advantage if client is clueless and cannot differentiate by ability, only name.

I have a painting by a Scottish or Danish painter who is maybe one or the other ...(nobody seems to know which!) The database thinks they are the same person. The styles are very divergent and obviously two different painters but not to the aggregating database ..oh well, technology f's up again!

stylistically it doesn't fit. Max Bergmann had a great output and long career. even Hitler had three of his paintings.

I'd sell it as "Retreat from Stalingrad" with reference to Hitler - on one of those US sites for people that are ONLY INTERESTED IN HISTORY.:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Not with all those bells. And accompanied by wolves instead of hounds? They are clearly in a hurry and fighting off the wolves on their way to Omsk, or wherever. You can see one man firing a shot at one of the wolves. Hunting wolves for food? I don't think so.:banghead:
I just hope they make it.:nailbiting:

Some factory art has signatures that look like someone famous. This just looks like that to me. I used to work in a shop that sold decorator paintings.
