Kind of goofy looking, more like hyena. The pots on the back are not connected to each other or the body, so not a vessel but just a decorative piece?
Any suggestions on country of origin?
    Thanks

I'm not sure where he's from but I'd say not tin glazed but maybe glazed (maybe lead glazed) yellowware (or redware if the clay is more red than yellow, can't tell from the photo)

About 7 3/4 at the tallest points.
    Sounds like pottery.

    Candle holder? Tiny bud vases?

The ears are so small, I think it's a pack horse, not a donkey or burro.

First guess as to origin - Mexico or points south, but something about it seems to have a European folk art vibe, too.

Probably a good idea to ping @Taupou

The little vases would hold water, right?
