What is this guy doing??...Dancing?...Playing Bocce?...How would you describe it??

11" Tall on marble base...He has something in his front hand...Not signed

Maybe... a really bad ballet arabesque... bad tai chi... demonstrating skate moves without skates... following through with a baseball throw... just stretching...
I'm not totally sure he is holding something... maybe just making a loose fist? If it something... a ball? Maybe just extending for a difficult catch?
That's all I got!

There is nothing broken of on the back (left) hand & he does have some object,in his right.

I think maybe petanque. I knew someone who played but haven't played myself so can't say for sure.

At least the one you found has a more predominant ball....

 

The back view, underside of the right hand.... doesn't look right for a tennis racket.......and his right shoe looks more like a dance shoe.......in the same back view.....

But, what also might "petanque" be if I may be so bold as to ask??

 

AAARRRGGGHHH......my post went to hyperspace....and I know I posted it!!! My thoughts were - that - from the BACK view, nothing looked broken off in his right hand, AND, his right shoe almost looks more like a dance shoe!!! But then I looked up Petanque, and see that seems to be like Bocce ball, so who knows???

It's some sort of French game. I knew someone who used to get together with a bunch of other ex-pats to play. He explained the game and invited me to come but it was quite a drive from my house and I never went.

 

Ugliest "bronze patina" I've ever seen, and sole of shoe is silver-colored, unless camera is playing tricks?
