Hello, does anyone know anything about this display cabinet/bookcase and how much it might be worth? It is mahogany and is in two pieces, one on top of the other, also it has brass lion head handles, it's 8ft high and about 5 ft wide, all sections lock and I have all of the keys. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I know absolutely nothing about these sort of things, thank you.

What a lovely cabinet ! And massive to boot ! Just a guess , but I think its a reproduction Georgian piece ,maybe 30s-40s ? Can we get a picture of the dovetails on the drawers ?

    I think later johnny.
    More like 1960s - 70s.

Unfortunately value is not that high. New homes are smaller, people like to paint this kind of furniture rather than enjoy it for it's beautiful grain.

Wait for Brad to give better info.

And if possible, johnny's request for pictures of the drawer dovetails would be helpful.

Nice cabinet but agree that it is not all that old. 70s or just a bit later seems about right. It is just nice used furniture at this point. Value really is dependent on where you are and how you are selling. Here in semi-rural Midwest, a wholesale or auction value on this would likely be less than $200.00, even in tip top shape. In a shop you would see this higher but think it would need to be under $500.00 to have a realistic opportunity of selling in a timely manner. You might do better in a big city or other locations where traditional furniture does well.

Many times there is a manufacturer stamp and even a date on the back or bottom of the furniture. The dovetails reflect mass production equipment of the 70's or later. That is only a guess as well.
    Very nice, however.

You are right... it has two stamps on the back, one say 'Reprodux' and the other '22 25 86'...
